The Serrahima family carried out their textile activity in Barcelona. Shortly before the Spanish Civil War a fire was declared in its facilities, which motivated the need to rent an old glass factory in disuse on C/México, in order to dry the cotton bullets, wet by the intervention of the firefighters.
After the war, the family acquired the property and developed all the textile activity there until the sixties. It is from that moment and anticipating the uncertain future of the textile industry, when he moved the business to a smaller premises, in Hospitalet de Llobregat, and proceeded to convert the old facilities into various premises, in order to rent them to small industrialists, given their proximity to the Barcelona Fair.
In the early 1970s and to improve the performance of the space, a pumping pump was built to house a garage and an office building.
From 2008, the third generation of the family began the start-up of the Espai Serrahima, rehabilitating the spaces for creative and innovative activities related to gastronomy, art, architecture, design and interior design.
And it is in one of these spaces that ESKLANDESTINO was born, in an old art gallery.
